No more walking….Murray passes his driving test!

by on Jul.26, 2009, under Andy Murray

ANDY MURRAY - 189118The world number three, who only started lessons two weeks ago, passed the test at the first attempt.

He wrote on Twitter: “Sorry for passing my driving test first time this morning. just two minor faults.”

His new licence will be a relief for girlfriend Kim Sears who will no longer have to ferry him around.

Murray was knocked out of Wimbledon in the semi-final, losing in four sets to fast-serving American Andy Roddick.

And he was straight behind the wheel – of a go-kart – choosing to race around the track with friends instead of watching the men’s final.

Since Wimbledon Murray has also found time for five-a-side football with Tim Henman and rounds of golf with his coaching team.

The 22-year-old, from Dunblane, also made a surprise appearance at Eastbourne this week as he represented the North of Scotland against Hertfordshire.

Murray will be hoping to be in the driving seat at the US Open, which starts at the end of August.

He says the hard court tournament, where he was runner up last year, provides his best chance of winning a grand slam title.
