Ana’s loss on ‘kids day’ could be an omen of things to come!
by bahamaderek on Aug.30, 2009, under 2009 US Open, Ana Ivanovic
Ana took part in an entertaining mixed doubles exhibition during Arthur Ashe Kids Day, the United States Tennis Association’s annual charity event aimed at families.
The 21-year-old teamed up with leading American youngster Devin Britton – who faces Roger Federer in the first round here – with the pair losing a very light-hearted seven-minute match 8-5 against James Blake and the returning Kim Clijsters.
Actor and comedian Will Ferrell, of Anchorman and Semi-Pro fame, stole the show as umpire of the match.
The weather fortunately held up and ensured for a highly successful occasion, with Arthur Ashe stadium close to full for the day-long activities. Ana was making an appearance at Kids Day for the fourth straight year.
