Australian Anastasia Rodionova has progressed through to the third round of the US Open with a three-set win over 23rd seed Sabine Lisicki.
Rodionova added another upset to the women’s draw, downing her higher-ranked opponent 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 in just over two hours.
The match ended in painful fashion for Lisicki, with the German rolling her ankle on match point.
Rodionova’s next opponent will be Ukraine’s Kateryna Bondarenko, who defeated Ana Ivanovic in the first round.
