JJ 3By placing a mosaic composed of 137,264 photographs of smiling faces in Belgrade Arena on October 15th 2009, Serbia, Wrigley’s chewing gum Orbit and Jelena Jankovic have entered Guinness Book of World Records!

The campaign named “We collect smiles and we need the one from you as well” was aimed at collecting the biggest number of photographs of smiles in the World. It was organized by Wrigley and promoted by Jelena Jankovic who was earlier this year chosen to be the brand ambassador for Wrigley’s most famous chewing gum brand Orbit. This campaign lasted from March 1st until September 20th and during this time more than 135,000 photographs was gathered and composed into the biggest smiles mosaic in the World, measuring more than 930 square meters in surface. By gathering 23,271 photographs more and making a 70 square meters bigger mosaic, Serbia has broken the record set last year in the city of Birmingham, UK.

Jelena Jankovic, Serbian best tennis player, who is famous not only for her good tennis, but also for her dazzling smile, has stated that she simply enjoyed participating in Orbit’s campaign as she was able to demonstrate to the entire world how really beautiful things take place in Serbia and that we have a lot to brag about.

Jelena also added: I’ve kept watching on the internet how the number of collected photographs grows and I was very happy to realize that I was the one to motivate all those people to enter Guinness Book of World Records with their smiles. A smile is and has always been such an important part of my personality. Up to now it was sort of my trademark, but now that we have broken the world record, it will become the trademark of Serbia as well. Helping Serbia enter the Guinness Book of World Records was of huge importance for me, because from now on I will be able to say that my country is known not only for its tennis players, but for the biggest number of smiles in the world. And I was the part of all that!

Wrigley’s senior filed force manager Mr. Dragan Svilanovic didn’t have enough words to express his pleasure in achieving the set goal, but also his happiness that Jelena was the one to help Wrigley achieve it.
