…..and the sheep may safely graze….

I love a real life fantasy story. A story that reinforces your faith in humanity. A story that touches the soul, and makes us feel better about ourselves and those we look up to. It would be nice to think the following might happen……….
“Hello Serena, it’s Kim”
There’s a pause while Serena digests this information.
“Clijsters?” she asks. She’s not quite sure that the caller is Kim Clijsters or some prankster.
“Yes,” Kim responds. “I would like to talk to you about the situation with Yanina.”
“D’you mean Wickmayer? The Belgian girl who’s been suspended.”
“Yes. She’s a friend of mine, and I’m pissed off about it.”
“What are you gonna do about it”? Serena asks.
“Well, I’m hoping that if a bunch or us get together we can put a little pressure on the authorities. I understand that she was wrong not to have reported in, but she’s not a drug user.”
“I’m listening,” Serena says.
“A years suspension is way too long for what she did. Three months would be enough to send a message, and November, December and January would fit her situation. I would like to get a few players to join me in a boycott.”
“Whoa! Why me?” asks Serena.
“Any protest without you would be meaningless,” replies Kim. “And I hope you can convince Venus to join in. I’ve already talked to Caroline, Jelena and Maria.”
“And they’ve agreed?”
“Yes.”
“OK, Count me in. I’ll talk to my sister, I’m sure she’ll agree.”
“Thanks, I’ll be in touch. Don’t say a word to anybody yet.”
