Israeli Shahar
Peer continues to defy the protestors by extending her stay at the ASB Classic, defeating Russian Maria Kirilenko 6-0 3-6 6-1 to become the first KIA Motors singles semifinalist.
She took just 23 minutes to breeze through the first set, but found Kirilenko a completely different proposition in the second and was forced to a third before emerging victorious.
She will meet Yanina Wickmayer in the semifinal. Wickmayer was far to strong for Date Krumm, winning in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.
